Departing for an unforgettable experience!

Hello everybody,

I write not because I can write. I write because I want to share the mixture of feelings that overwhelm me, the experience I have yet to live.

The day was slow and boring when I was invited to join the project Trashore. I had heard of it, but focused on exams I did not pay too much attention to it. I could not refuse it now, therefore, suddenly, I see packed bag, heading towards Busturialdea.

For some projects, and others, I have expectations for this one- Trashore – I feel confident. It will be: 14 days – of learning surfing, capoeira, yoga, participating in various dynamic series of workshops.

(Six days in the Basque Country, and the remaining days on the beaches of Portugal).

Multiculturalism, environment and obesity, are the themes of choice. Add to this: young people of various nationalities, young people aware, young people stripped of prejudice, and (still) young people willing to share: their cultures, country, lives.

I wait for, letter by letter, image by image, the expectations here implied to materialize.

Kisses and hugs,
Maria José Pires

Hi!
My name is Cláudia Patrícia Sousa, I am 20 years old and at the moment I live in Covilhã.
I was a member of the Red Cross Youth Covilhã. Currently, I am attending the 3rd year course in nursing at the Medecine School of Dr. Lopes Dias (ESALD) of Castelo Branco.
I would like to thank the Portuguese Red Cross Youth in Braga for giving me this tremendous opportunity to participate in the project Trashore.
It is a proof that there are still brilliant and interesting things done in this country, just be aware and seek this type of actions, not only through social networks, as in my case.
I have no doubt it will be a fantastic experience not only because of the contact with people from different cultures - and all the advantages that come of it - but also, through  developing actions that contribute positively to the welfare of all of us, as we are social beings. Living, learning, having fun, finally, a number of different issues that will be held, and will always remain in memory of each participant.
For all this, I could never deny this challenge or be indifferent to it.

Thank you so much,
Claudia Sousa
